Bath Salts

So,

I was researching different 'gift' ideas for a Thriftier Christmas.  I have many that I want to give something to on this Blessed Holiday--but, unfortunately, I do not have the means to buy everyone what I desire for them.

So, in an effort to let those I love know that they are loved and thought of--I make personalized gifts for them.  Last year, I made handmade earrings and bracelets--along with scarves.  So, I thought this year, I should try something a little different.

I decided to make bath salts--because what girl doesn't love a little pampering?  It was actually a pretty easy process, most of the time and effort going in to finding the supplies ;).  (don't tell them how easy it was)

The things you will need are:
Epsom Salt- Dollar Tree
Sea Salt- 7lbs w/ 40% off coupon at Hobby Lobby is under $5
Fragrant oil- Hobby Lobby 2.99
containers- washed out jelly/olive/condiment jars
Food Coloring

Add equal parts epsom salt and sea salt in lidded container and mix together by shaking the covered container.

Add drops of fragrant oil-- 5-20 drops depending on size of jar, and 2-3 drops of food coloring.

Shake vigourously, it will take a minute or two.

Top off with a pretty bow and label.

Voila-you have a lovely gift to add to your "spa basket."  Ideas to include in the basket could be: loofah, bath glove, slippers, candle, etc.

I plan on making bubble bath and sugar scrub next to go w/ the fragrant bath salts I made today.
