Walmart Haul

First of all , I need to give a big thanks to Michelle over at Scrappin' with my Bug, for giving me the heads up about the Big Lots/ Walmart price match deal on Martha Stewart crafts.

I went last night, and got over 20 things, without any problems at all--I was so excited, I had to take my sister and good friend, Katie.  But, when we got to WM, they would not honor our ad.  They told us we had to drive to Big Lots for the actual ad, instead of one that was printed off of the internet.  We explained our situation, and told them that we did the same things last night---but, they insisted rudely that we needed the ad from the store and if we didn't like it, we could call Corporate.

So, we called....and a half hour later-- we got to Big Lots--where there were no ads.  We pleaded with the furniture guy, to help us find an extra ad.  He came through for us, and we headed back to Walmart.
When we got there, the lady still refused to honor the ad.  So, as you can imagine we were upset.  Eventually, after speaking with the highest manager possible at that location (who we were not allowed to talk to the first time around), she let us buy the items for $1 a piece.

The funniest part of the situation, was that no one in the store, could tell me their "price match" policy, even though- their receipts say..."ask us about our price matching."  The manager even asked me about their price matching policies, since I had read them online, before going to the store.

The Big Lots ad ends tomorrow- so, if you go...remember these two things.  It is NOT in their policy to have to have the actual newspaper ad.  Here is their policy.

With all the hassle, we still got GREAT things--and we had an awesome frappucino from Starbucks (a company who knows what customer service is).

Congrats on your haul ladies!!! You're lucky that your WM still has scrapbooking stuff. I checked out mine today, and all the scrapbooking stuff is gone; not sure what they are doing with the section. I'm heading over to BL to see what they have. Thanks for sharing!

All I can say is WOW! We never get deals like that here in Canada. I will be in Erie, PA in 2 weeks and I hope we can get some great deals.

I found your blog through scrapbooks etc facebook page. clicked through the pictures and any picture with a URL posted, i visited.

Saw this video today so told my sister about it. She shopped in Kansas City, MO and I shopped in Wichita/Derby, KS. We did good, but not as good as you. Much less to chose from here as they are discontinuing Martha Stewart scrapbook supplies. Bummer...

Anyway, thanks for the info. Saved me a ton of money today.

LOL - word verification: nomor

husband says - don't spend nomor money!

I went to Wal-Mart on Friday and it was a huge fight with them. In the end I got my way, however I felt like a tempermental 2 year old LOL. I ended up with 32 items. Then Sat I went to Big Lots (it was my 1st time there and likely my last) and got I believe 6 things there. Then I went to a different Wal-Mart then I went to the night before and got another 8 items, however this time there was NO issue or question. I also wondered about the price matching at Micaels and Joanns. All the Wal-Marts in my area are downsizing major or not having a craft area at all. What gives?! All the Martha Stewart items were on clearance so I assume they will no longer carry it at all. I wish our Cricut carts were on clearance but honestly I don't think anyone can beat the prices I get on Ebay, which range from 15-20 dollars a piece new!

That is hundreds of dollard worth of Martha Stewart at the suggested retail prices. That is amazing!

I need to keep an eye on those Big Lots ads.
